Pay It Forward – Employee Recommendations

 

How the Program Works

Pay it forwardEconomic conditions have hit AEC firms and professionals hard in the past few months. SMPS Atlanta would like to Pay it Forward, helping those professionals who are seeking new employment opportunities.  As a part of the Pay It Forward program, we would like to offer a place which Employers in the AEC industry can find great candidates looking for new opportunities. Candidates can be for any position found in the AEC or related industries. This is not specific to only Marketing or Business Development professionals.  And there is no cost involved.

If you are a current SMPS member or member a Georgia A/E/C related association (including AIA, DBIA, CMAA, NAWIC, COAA, and ULI ) and you know of a talented and qualified professional that is seeking new employment opportunities due to the economic downturn, email payitforward@smspatl.org with your recommendation of them.  They will need to send their resume in with their approval to post it, along with your recommendation of them.  The recommendation should be a quote that states why you would recommend the candidate. The candidates’ resume and quote will be listed for employers looking for viable candidates.

If you are a member of one of a Georgia A/E/C related association and see a candidate listed that you would like to add an additional recommendation quote for, please forward your quote to payitfoward@smpsatl.org. Please allow two business days for the listing to appear.

Employers

If you are an employer searching for talented and qualified professionals, please review the resumes for individuals recommended by the SMPS Pay it Forward program. If you find a resume that is a good fit for your position, please contact the individual directly. Additionally, if you hire this individual, please email payitfoward@smpsatl.org to let us know you found a great new employee through our program.

Recap:

  1. An AEC Association Member (please state which association you belong to with your recommendation of candidate), sends email recommendation of a candidate to payitfoward@smpsatl.org.
  2. The Candidate also sends their resume, in pdf format, to payitfoward@smpsatl.org giving permission to post their resume. [SMPS suggests listing email and phone number only.]
  3. Colleagues review resumes and may add recommendation quotes to the existing resumes by sending them to payitfoward@smpsatl.org.
  4. Employers review resumes and contact candidates directly. If a candidate is found through this program, we simply ask that Employers contact payitfoward@smpsatl.org to give us this news and any feedback. Thank you!
