Karen See is a Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development for HOK’s Atlanta office. A seasoned marketing executive with an entrepreneurial background, Karen is responsible for HOK’s regional marketing and business development activities across all industry sectors. Karen also serves as a member of HOK’s Senior Leadership Committee, which provides oversight and management of the office.
Prior to joining HOK, Karen was founder and CEO of Abovo Group, Inc., a leading marketing services firm with clients nation-wide. Founded in 1997, Abovo grew to $15 million in fees and from two employees to 72 within the first three years under See’s ownership and direction. The firm closed in June 2008.
Karen is a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2008, was an Atlanta Woman magazine Diva, and has earned scores of awards from PR and marketing industry groups including IABC, PRSA, B2B and others. She serves on the Boards of Directors for: the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the American Israeli Chamber of Commerce, Women in Technology, the Ovarian Cancer Institute and others.
Previous professional experience includes vice president of Crescent Communications (now Ketchum), Southeast Area Director of Marketing for KPMG and Director of Marketing Communications for First Data Health Systems. Karen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University.
