DBIA LogoJoin SMPS and Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) on March 31 for this unique, all-access tour of the new Gwinnett Braves Stadium, just days before the home opener for the Braves in their brand new facility.

This is an exclusive opportunity to hear from the Design/Build team of contractor Barton Malow, the stadium designer HKS and representatives from the AAA Gwinnett Braves team about this exciting fast-track project. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium and all its features.  This will be your only chance to see areas of the stadium not open to the public once the stadium is in use.

Design and construction of the stadium was completed in 14 months, from start to finish. The extreme pace of the project led to challenges, but constant communication and a strong team spirit led to a fabulous new AAA stadium for the Gwinnett Braves to build their fan base in Georgia. There are many great stories behind this project from innovative design and construction elements to a focus on sustainability in design, construction and stadium operations. Don't miss this chance to hear the first-hand stories from team members who have been working on this project from the beginning.

GCS LogoIn support of the Pay It Forward initiative of the SMPS Atlanta Chapter, a portion of each registration fee will be donated to the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, the only shelter of its kind operating in Gwinnett County. The GCS is a private, non-profit, 501(c) (3) agency that grew out of a volunteer effort involving the PTA, business and community leaders and countless individuals who became aware of the growing need for services for the abused and abandoned children of Gwinnett County.  Planning and development began in 1986 and the first child was served in the fall of 1987.   Currently, the Gwinnett Children's Shelter serves 300-500 children and their families every year.
