Morning Workshop: Rev Up Your SF330!
Intrigued by the Federal Marketplace? Wondering how to get your share of the pie? Curious about the Federal personality? Stymied by the structure of the SF330? Then, you won't want to miss this morning workshop presented by Nancy Usrey, FSMPS, author of the Insider's Guide to SF330 Preparation (ZweigWhite 2004). Nancy has guided firms through the Federal maze for more than 20 years, developing market entry and pursuit strategies, interviewing agency representatives, reviewing SF330 submittals for firms, coaching interviews. She will walk you through some of the most challenging aspects of the Federal market and the SF330, then show you how to rev up your content and presentation to take on the competition. Bring your questions!
Luncheon Program -
DB and P3... What's that rumble?
The concept of Design-Build delivery has evolved since it first bubbled to the surface years ago. More public agencies are taking advantage of the benefits inherent in DB, or they are leveraging Public-Private Partnerships to provide infrastructure when funding is lacking. Nancy has spent the past few years experiencing the challenges these delivery methods bring to A/E/C business development and marketing efforts. She will share tips and lessons learned for those of you who think you might be ready to rumble!
Speaker:
Nancy Usrey is a 21-year member of SMPS, a CPSM and an SMPS Fellow. She worked her way up from marketing/graphics coordinator to manager of a 10-person marketing department before opening her own consulting business in 1992. Since then, Nancy has guided A/E/C firms and mentored leaders and marketers through up and down markets and various growth strategies. For the past year or so, she has been helping HNTB strengthen its position as a Design-Build/PPP leader in the burgeoning public marketplace.
SMPS needs your help!
At the October 27th SMPS Meeting, we will be collecting school supplies for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Gulf Region Division (GRD). The GRD is comprised of Civilians, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Contractors. They provide quality and sustainable engineering in support of civil/military construction in Iraq. The GRD does community relations visits when they open schools, parks, youth centers and medical clinics in Iraq. During that process they hand out small toys and school supplies. The ideal gifts are small stuffed animals, pencils, crayons, markers and writing pads. Their unselfish request for October is for school supplies for the children. This is a great time to go through your marketing closets to purge those pencils and pads with old logos. New items are requested. Click here for more information on the GRD.
